Zug, Switzerland/Stockholm, Sweden, 28 June 2012 - Infront Sports & Media, media and marketing partner of the European Handball Federation for its biennial flagship national team events, has secured a media rights agreement with Modern Times Group (MTG), following a tender process. The contract covers the broadcast rights for the Scandinavian territories – Norway, Sweden and Denmark – for the Men’s and Women’s EHF EURO 2016 and 2018 as well as the qualification games for the 2014, 2016 and 2018 editions of the championships. Matches will be broadcast on MTG’s free-to-air TV and pay TV channels and on the Viaplay online pay TV service. As part of the agreement, matches involving the local national teams, semi-finals and the finals will be shown on free-to-air TV. In addition, there will be comprehensive studio programmes and daily highlight shows.
